School Uniform

OUR SCHOOL UNIFORM

Broxburn Academy has always been committed to a school uniform code. Apart from honouring the important tradition in this, we wish our pupils to be proud to identify and be associated with their school community.

We know that school uniform impacts on positive behaviour, work ethic and attitude and therefore we place great importance on it.

We aim to prepare pupils for the world of work, where a dress code is often a common feature; to improve the image of the school in our local community; and for their safety and security, we want to be able to easily recognise members of our school community.

To support our young people to meet our expectations we are committed to a uniform strategy that supports the inclusive and diverse nature of our school.

Our young people's voice is present, and they have been involved at every stage of the decision making. We have also collaborated with our staff and parents/carers when considering the uniform items included to ensure it is affordable, comfortable, practical, and able to be worn by all.

(UNCRC Article 2 &12)

If you have any queries regarding the school's dress code, please contact our Heads of House via the school office or by emailing wlbroxburn-ac@westlothian.org.uk or calling 01506 282300
