School Awards Ceremony
Broxburn Academy's School Awards Ceremony celebrates the academic attainment of our pupils in SQA examinations. It also recognises exceptional achievement throughout the school year through a variety of annual awards (please see below). The evening is always a highlight of the year and an invite is a significant achievement for pupils.
- National 5 Academic Achievement Awards - selected pupils have either achieved the top mark in a subject or b) achieved 7 Nat 5s
- High and Advanced Higher Academic Achievement Awards - selected pupils have either a) achieved the top mark in a subject or b) achieved 5 Higher or 3 Advanced Highers
- Attendance Excellence - Pupils who have been recognised for their attendance
- Outstanding Achievement Awards (Citizenship) - pupils nominated by staff and school partners of Broxburn Academy for their outstanding commitment to the local community
- Outstanding Achievement Award (Extra-Curricular) - pupils nominated by staff and school partners of Broxburn Academy for their outstanding success in extra-curricular pursuits
- Duke of Edinburgh Awards - presented to those pupils who have completed their Duke of Edinburgh
- School Service Awards - pupils nominated by staff and school partners of Broxburn Academy for their contribution to the school community
- Year Champion Awards - The pupil from each year who has won the most House points over the previous academic year
- House Champions - The most successful house in terms of house points won
- House SPORT Champions - The most successful House at sports throughout the previous academic year including Sports Day
- The Morag Kidd Achievement Award - Presented to the pupil who has made best use of the support available within the school
- Award for Outstanding Achievement in Sportt - Presented to the pupil who has gained outstanding success in sports
- Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance - Presented to the pupil who has gained outstanding success in sports
- Award for Middle School Drama - Presented to the pupil who has gained the highest mark in National 5 Drama
- The Christine Scoular Award for Drama (Academic Achievement) - Presented to the pupil who has gained the highest mark in Higher Drama
- The Christine Scoular Award for Drama (Performance) - Presented to the pupil who has consistently delivered the highest quality drama performance in shows throughout the academic year
- The Lennie McNeill Memorial Award for Excellence in Musicc - Presented to the pupil who has excelled in Music and shown complete commitment to music whilst at Broxburn Academy
- The CatalentPharma-Solutions Award for Outstanding Achievement in Science and Language - Presented to the pupil who has the best combined grades across Science and Languages at Higher
- The Proxime Accessit - Presented to the pupil with the second highest UCAS points total after S5 exams
- The School Dux - Presented to the pupil with the highest UCAS points total after S5 exams
- The Daniel Stavert Memorial Award and Trophy - Presented to the pupil or pupils who have contributed to success of lower years
- The Maureen Watson Memorial Award for Outstanding Service to the School -Presented to the pupil who has given the most consistent and extraordinary commitment to Broxburn Academy
- The Head Teacher's Award - Presented to pupil as recognition for significant achievements in their education
