Virtual Learning Update

27 March
Logo

We would like to thank you for your engagement with our virtual learning platform. We really appreciate your enthusiasm, patience and support. The level of engagement from our young people has been impressive and feedback from staff has been very positive.

We continue to be aware that staff,  pupils and whole families are working hard to adjust to our new learning environment and we realise that there are challenges around working in this way.  There can be an increased intensity to the working day but equally we are very aware that family circumstance may make engagement problematic.  We understand that and are working on ways to reassure pupils around the pace of work.

The intensity of a virtual learning environment is also a concern for our staff who want to be as supportive as possible but could find themselves overwhelmed with individual questions from pupils.  Please be assured that staff will respond to pupils but this may take time as they will have 'class contact', preparation and marking to do alongside answering questions. Many of our staff are also volunteering at HUB schools, have young  families at home or ill relatives or indeed may become ill themselves and may therefore not be immediately available even during school hours.

To allow everyone on our school community to look after their wellbeing, and in line with the normal school week, our virtual learning environment will 'close' on Friday afternoon and 're-open' on Monday morning.

Once again thank you for your continued support. The Support Faculty will be in touch over the coming days with more advice.

Best wishes
